GREENTEC FOGGING-SYSTEM

LUBING GreenTec Fogging-Systems use the principle of direct evaporative cooling for effective cooling and humidification of the ambient air, thus making a significant contribution to optimum growth conditions.

Water plays an essential role in the growth and development of plants, as it fulfils numerous physiological functions. It provides the necessary building blocks for plant tissue, fills the cells, acts as a transport medium for nutrients and water and contributes to temperature regulation. The water balance of a plant is a dynamic equilibrium between water uptake by the roots and water loss through transpiration.

Water loss, especially transpiration, is significantly influenced by environmental factors such as solar radiation, humidity, wind conditions and the physiological characteristics of the plant, such as the leaf area and the opening and closing mechanisms of the stomata. These stomata regulate transpiration, enable the release of oxygen and the absorption of carbon dioxide (CO₂), which is essential for photosynthesis. In addition to light conditions, humidity plays a decisive role in modulating transpiration.

The greenhouse is a way of promoting the growth of plants under controlled conditions, with the misting system playing a central role in modern greenhouse operations. In order to avoid stress in plants, it is crucial to optimise the microclimate. Especially in extreme climatic conditions, such as strong sunlight, high temperatures and low humidity, plants easily come under stress. A lack of water leads to a reduction in transpiration, impairs water uptake and increases the stress level of the plants.

The misting system not only contributes to temperature regulation when natural ventilation is insufficient, but also minimises the loss of CO₂, making a greater amount of this gas available for plant growth. Evaporative cooling ensures that very fine water droplets are released into the air without wetting the plants directly. This evaporative process lowers the ambient temperature and increases the humidity, which optimises the vapour pressure deficit (VPD) to a level that is conducive to healthy plant growth.

Maximising yield is not only based on increasing the area under cultivation, but also on the efficiency of resource utilisation. The LUB|NG high-pressure misting system helps to create climatically favourable conditions in the greenhouse, which leads to higher harvest efficiency per square metre of cultivation area, optimises water consumption and reduces CO₂ losses.
